Folder, sub-Folder and File content fail to encrypt correctly
I have encountered an issue; which only seemed to manifest itself post-install of MS Office Pro Plus 2010 (x86). MS Office Pro 2007 did not experience this issue. System: Win 7 x64 SP1 Installed 8GB RAM 2TB Disk (63% consumed) Process: G:\<TopLevelFldr>\<Sub-Folder>\<Content> - Thsi structure was encrypted prior to installation of MS Office Product. Installed MS Office Pro Plus 2010 (x86) version (acquired through HUP; sponsered by employer). Previous version owned/installed by myself. Post-install of the product; performed product updates as identified by MS update manager. Attempted to access encrypted data; failed. Error indicated "bad/corrupt file". Attempted to access .pdf documents from encrypted folder content; Failed. Error indicated a "corrupt file". Remediation: Attempt 1: Attempted to reset encryption flag to remove encryption. Failed with error, object no accessable. Attempts to reset encryption at the folder level (starting with lowest level first) failed to decrypt content; was successful in setting folder/sub-folders as unencrypted. Attempt 2: Remove content from all folders. Recovered content from backup medium. Folder structure was unencrypted; restoration resulted in unencrypted content. Was successful in accessing content w/o issue using newly installed MS Office product. Tests: Test 1: Individually encrypted file. Accessed file with appropriate product (Excel, Word or Adobe). Success. No restrictions on access capability. Unencrypted selected file(s). Tested access to files; no errors. Test 2: Selected sub-folder for encryption. Process appeared to complete without issue. Accessed file(s) with appropriate product (Excel, Word or Adobe). FAILED: Same as original error (Corrupt file and/or access violation). Deleted content from sub-folder. Set sub-folder to unencrypted. Restored from backup medium. Tested access successfully. Current Configuration: Two profiles: Primary Use Profile (Admin Rights); Secondary Profile (specific to employment and work data; no Admin Rights) UAC Active at highest level. Specific folders (within the structure outlined above) hare locked to my primary admin profile. No other profile has access, and it is not shared to outside contacts. Final Testing: Loged in with work profile. Attempted access to encrypted work data using appropriate product (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint or Adobe). No errors identified. Observation: Issue appears to be specific to my Admin profile. Admin profile in place for past six months utilizing encrypted frame work on data drive w/o issue. Admin profile in place since system was built; without security modifications to system. Reasons for attempting to protect privetly owned system: Thefts in my area have left cause for consern. My personal financial data; should my system be stolen or compromised would be at risk. Please Help: Do the symptoms describbed indicate an issue with the Security model of the Win 7 OS (w/SP1)? Do the symptoms describbed indicate an issue with the MS Office Pro Plus 2010 (x86) version? Do the symptoms describbed indicate an issue with my long standing Admin Profile? What may be done to remediate this issue? Must the Admin Profile be removed and rebuilt? (Very costly in time and effort). What might have caused this issue and how may it be avoided in the fut

Thank you for providing the advise. I just saw this response, and I am moving to do the suggested actions. For reasons not yet understood, I was not notified of your reply. Please don't take my lack of response as "not caring". I really appreciate it; and I shall post (along with additional information after several days of working through it.)
