I really need this FixIt program as soon as possible, but i've bought a computer which running win 8.1
support microsoft com / mats / cd_dvd_drive_problems
Will you do something for keep users running win8.1 and give them compatible softwares, or should we drop to the bin and downgrade to Win7?

You will be glad to know that Fix-it application for Windows 8.1 is available (see Resolution 2 of the following KB Article).Click the Run Now tab of the related application to fix issues with your with CD or DVD drives.

Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Thank You for the answer despite my style wasn't nice.
I wanted to try out this program for a DVD disk, which couldn't be read.
Unfortunately it was't successful.

Can it read any other disk?If it can't  then it may be an issue with lens or,may be the drive has some other hardware issues.

The problem is that, i have a DVD disk which is damaged.
All the others work correctly.

edit: and maybe i've misunderstood the hungarian description of the support page.
