Firewall swirched off by social networking site
In the last week I logged onto a new website site. On both occassions, my XP firewall was switched off when I accessed this site. I didn't think this was possible. How can I stop it happening again? Running XP 2002 service pack 3. Internet Explorer 8 and McAphee anti-virus all of which I think are up-to-date.1 person needs an answerI do too

Your computer is undoubtedly infected. McAfee (the worst choice for an antivirus BTW) will be of no use. You need to do some thorough malware scanning per the steps outlined here: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
