Firewall rules based on logged on user
Anyone know of a way to assign Windows 7 firewall rules based on the logged on user? (I'd even consider a 3rd party firewall client). We'd like to assign "blinders" to a user based on their access needs and we don't see anything in the docs or TechNet that approximate what we're trying to do... Usage case: (assume 192.168.1.1/24 network) User A logs into desktop (with IP address 192.168.1.25). Firewall rules are applied based on user that blocks IP addresses 192.168.1.10 and 1.15. A can access local network except for those two addresses. User A logs out. User B logs in and rules are applied to this user so they can't get to 1.12 and 1.14. Etc... This seems like a useful capability which would be even better if tied into Group Policy. Anyone dealt with this issue? TIA! -=- MF

Hi, Based on my research and test, there is impossible to set difference firewall rules to difference user. When the firewall rules was set, it will apply to all users who log on this PC.
