Firefox taskbar icon was correct, now isn't, plus few other little niggles
I'm running Firefox 3.0.6 and for a while the icon in the taskbar was the proper Firefox one, but now it's changed to a generic icon (like the one Windows uses for non-associated file types) - this is when it's running by the way, as I hadn't added/pinned it to the taskbar, as I have keyboard keys for it.I've just tried adding the desktop icon to see if, for some weird reason, that was why it worked earlier (I had the desktop icon there for a while, and it was working then), but that didn't work.Only other issues are when minimising programs, the Live Messenger window keeps popping up, and the display @ 1680x1050 seems like it's being squashed to fit 1600x1200 or something, as all the text, etc seems to be taller than it was in XP on the other PC.

Hi rustycaps Behavior like this can be attributed to beta code, however the display items may be fixed by an updated display driver. Check with the manufacturer of your installed graphics device for the latest WDDM driver. For the FF problem, I'm not familiar with thew options for that program, but check to see if it has a repair option. Otherwise an in-place reinstall might get that icon back. Hope this helps. Well, the FF icon is back now, after installing newer drivers, even though I only downloaded the last ones less then 2 weeks ago - they're only for Vista32, but seem to work.I think the main problem with the desktop is that the icons are so huge, that it makes them look odd compared with XP - there's probably an option for to resize them somewhere - yeah, I just did the right click -> view -> small icons.... duh!
