Files that open games instead of the program utilitys itself
Hi,
This may sound weird but since i've installed Mass Effect 2 some files that don't have anything to do with the game open the game.
The image of ms2 takes over the files
Can anybody tell me wich Regestry key i have to change ?
Thanks

"Do Over" :)
I will assume the README file is standard text file. You will want to check your file associations. To do so, go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations. However, the real question
as to why Mass Effect (I really find the B!tch Please face funny) overwrote the defaults.
From where did you get your copy of Mass Effects? I hate to type it, but it has "malware" written all over it. Hopefully, I am wrong.

thx for reply.
MS 2 is from retail shop.
My file associations are all correct.
But don't you know the register key i can change for this.
I'll ask bioware itself and hopefully they can come up with this answer.
This game is not an illegal download.

Hi,
Since you checked the file associations, I would like to know whether this problem only occurs in the game folder? If so, you could contact the provider to check the issue. Otherwise, please try to rebuilt the icon cache. Run following command in Command
Prompt with administrator permission to rebuilt icon cache.
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
del IconCache.db /a
