Files lost on skip cut/paste

Hi,

I don't know if this is only unintuitive design or a bad bug, however what happened:

1) Turned off Hyper-V virtual machine
2) Deleted the machine
3) Went to a folder with virtual drive files (maybe a bad idea, anyway...)
4) Selected them, clicked "cut" (a few files of 60 GB, 28 GB, 20 GB, 20 GB, 4 MB, 4 MB, 4 MB)
5) Went to a different drive in explorer
6) Clicked "paste"
7) Moving files in progress...
8) Dialog appeared - file partially in use (probably the Hyper-V manager)
9) Chosen "Skip"
10) Dialog appeared for another file
11) Chosen "Do for all such..." + "Skip"
12) Moving finished (mostly skipping)
Expected result: skipped files are in the source folder, the rest in target folder
Actual result: target folder only contained those 4 MB files, 60 GB file in source folder, but all the 20 GB-ish files gone (refreshing folders didn't make them appeared, neither after restart)

The files were to be sorta deleted anyway, but I find this a weird and potentially dangerous (although slightly understandable) behavior. I was told this is a place to mention it.

OS Windows 8.1 x64 (probably Enterprise, might check tomorrow)

Please let me know if more information is needed, thank you
