File sharing not working
Hello, I want to share a folder between a Win7 PC and a laptop. I go to 'properties, sharing, advanced sharing' and give my user name full access to the share. In 'security', I make sure my user name has full write access to the files as well. Now, when I try to remotely add or remove a file I get the message 'You need permission to perform this action', which is very strange since the user name on both computers is exactly the same. Now, if I add the group 'authenticated users' to the share and give this group full access, i can write to the share. This is obviously not what I want, since I only want to gve MYSELF access... What's going on?

I was able to solve this by leaving the homegroup. Apparently, windows uses the homegroup credentials ('homegroupuser$') to log on to the network. No way to override this in any way but to just leave the homegroup. I tried adding new credentials for the machine in question, but no luck; they were promptly overwritten by the homegroup again. Weird and annoying behaviour.
