Hi, would like to check, do we need administrative privileges to do file sharing? if the file needs to be shared in the domain level then you need domain admin rights to share it. if the file needs to be shared in the same system then you need local administrator rights to share it.

Hi V.M, Cause we share the folder in the same system without administrator rights? Can GPO or secpol do that? Thank you

BEST WAY is - Sharing of Folder is done by administrator or the user which has administrator rights. GPO or Secpol needs administrator rights.

If, we want to allow user (non administrator rights) to do folder sharing, how do we go about it? Can we allow only sharing to users group in GPO or Secpol from AD? Thank you.

Hi nakamori, Firstly, please let us know what you would like to achieve. How do you want to organize file sharing in your domain? Meanwhile, all the domain users can share their files in the domain and they can control who can access the sharing by setting permissions.
