I have been working on my word document (Have Microsoft home and student 2010) and have been saving at regular intervals. However I have just closed it and went to email it to myself so I could open in on my ipad and it is no where to be found, i have tried everything including all solutions on the internet and the only trace I have found of it ever existing is if I go into the files: users, username, app data, local, Microsoft, windows, history, today, this pc  however I does not let me open it and says it can not find the file :(

Have you deleted the file ? Or you don't remember where you saved the file ?

In case you have deleted the same, you can use any 3rd party tool to scan and restore the deleted the file.

Or go to file in word, and check if you can find the file under "recent document"
