File jpeg image deleted off desktop but still shows at file size 0 bytes
I have windows 7 and downloaded a jpeg image to my desktop. I deleted it and it shows as a blank image with 0 bytes file size. If I try to delete it says file is no longer found in Users\desktop and will not go away even when I restart or try to delete in safe mode. Any help would be appreciated:)

something must have a tie on that file. You can download process explorer from sysinternals. Once installed you can click at the top find handle, type in the filename of the file and see what has a hold on it. Kill the process and then you should be able to delete it. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

You can reboot, press F8 to enter the Advanced Boot Options. Then choose "Repair Your Computer". Select the installed system, then launch Command Prompt. You can try to delete the file in command prompt with the command "del". If the issue is not resolved, I suggest you run chkdsk. After entering the chkdsk command you will need to restart. After the process finishes and reboot, please try to delete the file again.Arthur Xie - MSFT
