File Synchronization in Windows 7 - file level or block level?
Should be a pretty straightforward question, but I cannot for the life of me find an answer in the knowledgebase, technet, or forums. When synchronizing folders to a network share from Windows 7, does the sync process save at the file level or block level?

Hi, Based on my research, in Windows 7 synchronization process is called Bitmap Differential Transfer, it should save at block level. For more information, please refer to the following article: How the synchronization in Windows 7 Offline Files works - Romania Networking Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs Hope it helps.
