File History System Image Backup not working

I was trying to complete a system image backup and while the system was in process, I decided to cancel the process to complete some needed work.  Now when I try to complete the system image backup again I am receiving a failed error message. The error message is listed below.  Please assist with correcting the issue of the exclusive lock on the EFI system partition.

  • Windows Backup failed to get an exclusive lock on the EFI system partition (ESP).  This may happen if another application is using files on the ESP.  Please retry the operations. (0x8078011E)
  • Additional information:
    Access is denied. (0x80070005)

Regards,
Robert

The issue may occur if EFI system partition is locked or other application is using files on the system partition.

I suspect the third party security software protects the system files and causes this issue. Therefore, please disable security software temporarily and perform clean boot.

I have disabled my virus program and have completed a clean boot without any luck.  I decided to uninstall my virus application because the services would not disable.  After the uninstall, the system image backup is running successfully.

Thank you for your support.

Robert

Robert - I'm having the same problem. What AntiVirus system are you running? Thanks. Charles
