Feedback vs Bug Report
Does anyone know if the Feedback tool actually sends a message to MS and they review it? Or is this function similar to the report error problem in XP and Vista wherre it gathers all the data but never actually sends a message. I started task manager;set it for network performance; and could not really tell if a message was sent (probably since the messages are small in size). Also it looks like MS and omitted the bug reporting tool unless it is only available to other registered testers.

The feedback tool does work and provides Microsoft with information about the beta. The much maligned error reporting tool will send you a report in XP/Vista - but only if your error has a solution on file. Since (IME) most crashes are caused by 3rd party drivers, there's just too many different problems for Microsoft to have a solution on file for every single possible system configuration. As for the Send Feedback tool and the Bug Report. They're addressed on the Connect website - but even then you often won't get a response. I was involved with thebeta testing of Vista and submitted many bug reports. The only one that I received feedback on was the crashing of my network card driver. And that was to submitmore information! Finallya solution was developed, and I was instructed to install the nextversion of the beta as the "fix".- John
