Federate Lync 2010 to 2013

I have a 2007 Environment

I need to federate it to a 2013 environment that I have little-to-no control over.

Is there anything that says I -cannot- make this situation work? Anything that -requires- me to upgrade to a different version of Lync?

Hi,

Slightly confused over the post title compared to your question, but yes you can federate lync 2013 with all previous flavours of lync and communication server providing you have the required components in place.

The 'little control' you refer to on the 2013 environment could pose a problem for you if they are not already enabled for open federation. You'd need to liaise with whoever does manage that system and arrange for a federated partnership.

From a technical standpoint you're good.

Kind regards

Ben
