Fax Console puts 1 in front of area code when not wanted - how to stop it!
In AZ, we have 3 area codes. We do not put a 1 in front of them to use them. My Fax Console in Windows XP insists on putting a 1 in front of the other two area codes (602 and 628) and then I get the voice message from the phone company "It is not necessary to dial a 1...etc" and the call cannot go through. I am tired of only being able to fax to 480 numbers! I have gone into the "dialing rules" and even added another home location with the 602 area code and thought I had the problem licked but, no...when it came right down to it, there was that stinking *1* again. *sigh* What can I do?1 person needs an answerI do too

I have unchecked dialing rules. When I do, the box for the area code goes gray and nothing can be entered there. When dialing rules is checked, I entered the 602 number, which is NOT long distance from 480, and it INSISTS on adding the 1. Then the recording st the 602 number says 'It is not necessary to dial a 1, blah, blah, blah."
