Fatal execution error 0x7927f22e
Getting this- Fatal execution error 0x7927f22e. Click ok. Gives random thread error messages. Will not debug. All of this after install of a new video card that with the install software installed NET Framwork 2.0 This install failed. I have done the dotnetfx.exe repair. Still no good. Windows live update wants to update me now to NET Framework 3.5. Install hangs. Have had issues with NET Framework on other computers before. Frustrating flawed software evidently. Running XP Media Center Edition. SP3

Hi Zephyrius,Do you get any error message when the .NET framework installation fails?Scenario 1:Fatal Execution error:Put the computer in a clean boot state and check if you come across the error.a. Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.b. Refer the following Microsoft KB article for more information on how to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in XP:How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state?http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned under the section 'Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state' in the above KB article. Scenario 2:Step 1:Remove the traces of .NET framework from your computer and then perform Windows Update and then check if you can install .NET framework.http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx Step 2:Refer to the steps outlined in the below link to keep your computer up to date. How to keep your Windows computer up-to-date?http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311047Regards,Manasa P – Microsoft Support.

Manasa, thank you for taking time to respond to my issue. In the interim, I found a .Net cleanup utility from another online forum. Ran it and then reinstalled all .Net framework versions and updates and yes, I did this in a clean boot state with minimal drivers and network support This seems to have corrected the problem. This is not the first .Net install issue I have encountered (other computers). I would suggest that Microsoft itself provide such a cleanup utility since it seems to be a reocurring problem for myself and others. Thank you.
