Faster Logon using Mandatory Profile?
We all know how much faster your login times are once you've created your local profile. For our Lab systems, the local user profile is removed at logoff so every time the user logs in, their profile is re-created based on the Default User profile. The time difference between logging in with an already existing profile and re-creating your profile every time is staggering. 5 seconds for my Desktop to come up when the profile pre-exists to more than 30 seconds when the profile has to be re-created each time. I have messed around with Mandatory and Roaming profiles but I still can't seem to get anywhere close to the same login times as when the user profile pre-exists for that user. There are so many articles on Mandatory and Roaming profiles that'll make your head spin yet no one seems to address the login time differences. So simply, I am wondering if it is even possible to achieve the same login times (or get close) using a single (mandatory) profile...stored either locally or on a network share?

I'm afraid its not possible even if the mandatory profile is on the local hard drive. That's because when you access to your profile you access to a folder created on your disk (or on a network share) but when you access to a mandatory profile Windows create a new all profile based on the original profile. I takes time to copy the files. Regards, Ricardo Polo
