Fast User Switching User Logs Out Old User After 5 Minutes
Says it all in the title. If I switch user (using fast-user switching keeping existing user session logged in) into another account, after 5 minutes or so the old user and session logs out (you can even hear the 'logging out tune' play in the background). When switching back, the old 'session' has clearly been closed and logged out. This is not an earth stopper but EXCEEDINGLY annoying. You can switch into another account, and if you come back quick enough in just a couple of minutes everything is as it was (as you would expect). It is clear that there is some time limit of inactivity before it chooses to log out in the background. Background: It is true that I have recently been infected with the 'HelpAssistant MBR' virus and I (believe) have successfully kicked it out (see my postings of joy here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpsecurity/thread/41c1d91e-a661-4209-9641-7e352822fecb ) However, I dont know if this strange logging out issue is an overhang of that virus or not as I never had a 2nd user (requiring switching to) before the remedial work for the virus (the remedy forced me to do the RIGHT thing and change my everyday usage account type to LIMITED...as it always should have been from the start.) Therefore this behaviour may well not be linked to it whatsoever (perhaps someone knows FOR SURE rather than surmising about this). So..... Is it strange behaviour that required more detailed investigation and remedy into the virus or is it a system function/setting that can be stopped. (I hope the latter). Very grateful for professionals help.1 person needs an answerI do too
