Family Safety Not Available for Domain Accounts
I have been looking at using the family safety add for windows 7 at a non-profit child development center. I want to only allow Kid Friendly webisites. Well I go to install it and it doesn't allow me to select a domain account created for the kids to monitor. Only local computer accounts. I searched around the internet and found that the previous version of Family Safety did work with domain accounts and the new version no longer does. So I was wondering, can anyone provide a work around such as a registry edit to make it work with domain accounts? Thanks.

Really. Does this resolve the domain account issue? I just downloaded this about 3 hours ago. Is this a newer version?

@Carey Frisch - I re-downloaded the windows live thinking that a new version may had come out per your post above but it still does not recognize domain accounts@RobinsonZhang - Thanks for the response. I had seen this through my researching but I know when things like this happen, there are sometimes a workaround that can be performed to make it work. I was hoping there might be a way to make it work without having to wait for a new version.I hope they come out with this soon!

it works fine on a domain only catch is roaming profiles must not be used for it to work. if you do not use roaming profiles follow this carefully. Users you wish to monitor must have signed into the workstation at least once to be able to add them to family safety as it does not search for domain users, it searches the local computer for the user profile, if a new user logs in for the first time family safety will not monitor that user, or if an existing user signs onto a computer that he hasn't used before the same will happen. so make sure all the users have logged in and out of all the computers if they do not use the same ones each day. if they are at a fixed machine then you do not need to do this as the profile will already be on the computer if roaming is off. 1) install locally on each computer before doing so ensure that all users have signed into each computer that they use as new users will not be monitored by the software. 2) the user profiles will be detected automatically, select the users to monitor, this is why all the users on that computer must sign in and out at least once with no roaming profile. 3) job done, login to the settings and lockem down, no porn for you get back to work boy haha 4) I REPEAT it works on the workstations, no roaming profiles and all users signed in at least once to monitor ON THAT COMPUTER ONLY.

also try k9 web filtering, if you have no proxy it will work well, install, configure and works with any user
