Fairly regular Bluescreens, often when the PC seems to be idle. Can anyone help?
Hi,
I seem to get one or two random bluescreens per day on my machine (Win 7 64-bit SP1, Core i7 870, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 1GB GTX 560 Ti).
Here's the latest minidump relating to my most recent bluescreen:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=9f2a4881c2c64e5b&resid=9F2A4881C2C64E5B!236&parid=9F2A4881C2C64E5B!209&authkey=!ANAJMQ9WfUsTmy8
I hope that link works... and that somebody can read it and explain what might be causing the crash?
Thanks :)

The minidump file showed a
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b) stop error but no third party driver was named as causing the crash.
However the process that crashed was the
AvastSvc.exe.
So, try uninstalling and reinstalling Avast.
If problems persists consider uninstalling Avast and use alternative security software such as Microsoft Security Essentials.
Also, consider downloading, updating, and running a "Quick Scan" with Malwarebytes Antimalware (free version) and see if it picks anything up:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Also there is a driver present on the system that has been known to cause blue screen errors in certain setups and that is the sptd.sys.
I would recommend to uninstall the application that installed the sptd.sys driver, possibly that is Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%.
Then uninstall the sptd.sys - see "How can I remove SPTD driver on 64-bit OS?" in the following link:

Thanks for the reply auggy!
I'll try your suggestions tomorrow. I didn't think such popular software like Avast could cause bluescreens...
I was about to go to bed, and I got a random BSOD again.
Here's the new dump:

Bug Check Code 0x3B: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff558949(v=VS.85).aspx
This error has been linked to excessive paged pool usage and may occur due to user-mode graphics drivers crossing over and passing bad data to the kernel code.
Please start by updating your graphic card driver and your DirectX.
Consider also uninstall the plugin-contain Plugin. More about it: http://www.ghacks.net/2010/06/25/what-is-the-process-plugin-container-exe/
If this does not help, consider contacting your graphic card manufacturer Technical Support for assistance.

I've left it a while... thought I'd give it a bump before it drops into oblivion...
Any help much appreciated.

Thanks Mr X, I'm fairly sure it's not the graphics driver or DirectX, as I always keep these regularly up to date. I also recently changed my graphics card from a GTX 460 to a GTX 560 Ti, and these bluescreens occurred on the old card too, across many
graphics driver updates.
This plugin-container.exe that you suggest uninstalling... seems to be associated with Firefox - does this mean I have to stop using my preferred browser?
[edit] annnd another! https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=9f2a4881c2c64e5b&resid=9F2A4881C2C64E5B!238&parid=9F2A4881C2C64E5B!209&authkey=!ALIH8h6-mVUosIc
Does it appear to be the same problem each time? Sorry I don't know how to analyse these dumps myself... the first reply said it might be avastsvc.exe, the second said it might be graphics drivers...
