Failure to connect to Wi Fi network Win7 - Belkin router
Hello, I got a new Lenovo X220 with Win 7 and I cannot connect to my home Wi Fi. After selecting the network from the list and typing the password it says that Windows was unable to connect to XYZ. I tried disabling Security and WPS but it did not work either. I reset the Belkin F7D1301 V1 Basic Wireless Router to factory settings, changed the SSID and nothing. Windows does not give me any message on what is failing. The computer connects to my office Wi-Fi so it works. I do not have any problem with any other devices in my house. I have 2 Win XP, a TV, an iPad, a Blackberry phone, and an Android phone using the Belking router with no problems. Any ideas?

Hi, Since Windows 7 could connect to your office WiFi, the Windows 7 wireless driver should be OK. The problem should be related with your router. Please use cable wired with the router to check if Windows 7 machine can get IP address. Furthermore, Try the following steps on Windows 7 and see if this helps. 1. In the Network and Sharing Center, under Tasks on the left side, click Manage wireless networks to bring up the Manage Wireless Networks window. 2. Right-click the SSID (network name) that displays in the list and choose Properties from the menu. 3. Click to clear the "Connect to a more preferred network if available" checkbox.
