Failed to query TCP/IP settings
When repairing the Local Area Connection on my laptop I receive an error window with the following text: Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed. My router and modem are functioning properly. Only that laptop has the problem. The system is set to automatically obtain IP address.1 person got this answerI do too

Try setting it static and see if the changes will take. Also use a flash drive and another computer, download the latest nic drivers, and update your nic on the computer giving you issues.

try,instead of repair...right click .. properties...Under the general tab, look in the box that states 'this connection uses the following items:"scroll down to internet protocol (TCP/IP) - it it is not checked... check it.... click ok (under authentication tab at the top - may need to enable smart card.)
