Failed to query TCP/IP
Had to reinstall Windows XP due to issues I was having. Updated Windows to Service Pack 3. Now I can not connect to my Airport to get online. I am connecting via ethernet cable. According to my Network Connections, the ethernet is connected, but when I try to open Internet Explorer it says I'm off line. When I try to "repair" the connection I get this message:Failed to query TCP/IP setting of the connection cannot proceed. Please help! 1 person needs an answerI do too

After you reinstalled Windows, did you then install all the drivers for your hardware? This includes your network adapters. If you didn't do this, then that's your next step.Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:1. The device mftr.'s website; OR2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers. To find out what hardware is in your computer:1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html - Belarc Advisorhttp://www.gtopala.com/ - System Information for WindowsMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
