Facebook Certification Error
For the last few months, I have had an ongoing problem with a popup window when I am in Facebook. It is a secuirty alert, with three statements. The first two have green checkmarks, indicating they are ok. (Certificate is from trusted authority and the date is valid). The third is a yellow warning mark that states"The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name on the site." I am asked if I wish to continue, and it does not matter if I answer YES or NO, I am locked in this certificate and cannot x out of FB and must alt, ctrl, del to get to the task manager, which won't close it either so I am forced to restart the system. I am looking for a solution....please? Im running Win 7, and when I access FB, it does show the web address as http//www. so apparently nobody is trying to access my page.

First things to check are date, time and zone. Regards Milos PS: It is not easy to work with sentence is not reproduced exactly. Search engines would not find a single occurence in this erroneous case.

Date, time and zone are correct. As stated, there are THREE options on the secuirty alert, two of which are indicated with a green check as they passed. The final option, with the yellow warning symbol states 'THE NAME ON THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE S INVALID OR DOES NOT MATCH NAME OF SITE". This is the direct quote off the warning. Apparently, this IS an issue as I have seen the exact problem on several blogs. Peg

You may have an infected system. You need to download something like MalwareBytes and do a comprhensive scan of your system. Windows only receives the certificates and only reports if there is a problem with. Other than that, you would have to contact the originator of the certificate for additional assistance. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Hi , How and when did this issue occur? How did you configure the security settings on the Internet Explorer? Before going any further, I suggest going to scan your system with the antivirus which you installed. This issue can be caused by the high security settings, antivirus or firewall which the access. Please check if this site is in your trusted sites list. After that, please refer to the following link to configure the security settings in IE: Change Internet Explorer Security settings Please also test the issue in Clean Boot and see if it still will pop up again. If the issue persists, please help capture a screenshot for our further research: How to capture a screenshot ====================== 1. When the message pops up, please press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" Button, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste". Then click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5. Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click "Desktop" on the left pane and then click "Save".
