FTP site and IIS
Is it possible to setup an ftp site using ONLY the IIS manager on Windows 7 Home Premium? I setup an ftp server on my sister's mac and it took about 5 minutes or less (no third party software to download whatsoever) . I was curious to see if it would be just as easy to set up an ftp site on a pc (without downloading any third party software). I went ahead and tried to publish an ftp site through the IIS manager. I allowed all rules regarding ftp in windows firewall. I set the bindings to my ip address and left the port at 21. I have tried anonymous authentication and set read/write privileges. I have made sure that the ftp site was started.... I cannot access this ftp site, even from within my home network. What gives?

Does your client computer have a firewall on? Are you connecting to the server via active or passive mode? Disable firewalls on both sides then test to ensure your server/client are working properly.Matt W. CCNP, CCDA, CCNA-S, RHCT, MCSE, MCSA, MCP+I, A+
