FTP and Windows 7 Problems
Description might be overklill but here goes! We use ADP hosted remotely and is accessed throught the internet. I am on a local LAN (192.168.1.XXX) and they use NAT Translation to see my computer. I use ADP to generate a file that ADP then FTP's to my computer's hard drive. I had XP and it worked flawlessly. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and now it will not work. They can telnet into the other computers (all XP) that are setup for the FTP receive but not mine, although they say they can ping mine. I have followed their instructions to the letter. I also uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2012 and completely disabled the Windows Firewall, still does not work. I pasted the latest thread in the conversation with ADP tech guys below...any suggestions as ADP is unable to figure it out so far? still unable to ping or ftp to pc at 192.168.1.201 from ADP side of network. We are routing 192.168.1.0 traffic to non ADP router: ip route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 205.190.90.254 Able to ping this router, but cannot telnet to it. Not sure if it has any access lists or rules that may or may not allow ftp to the pc. There is another pc set up for ftp (192.168.1.210). We are able to ping and ftp to this PC fine. On ADP side of network, we have both of these pc's set up with the same access list and routing.

Hi, Are you able to ping the ADP side of the network? Is the ADP side able to ping your Windows 7 computer properly? Sorry - I didn't know anyone had replied! They say they are unable to ping my computer. I have another PC running XP and it pings from them just fine. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and mine USED to ping before the change. The other computer that works also has Norton Internet Security on it and I did nothing to it after installing Norton (it had only a basic Antivirus program before that and was using Windows Firewall). Nothing else has changed so it has to be something specific to Windows 7, and to date, they (ADP) still haven't been able to offer any other help. As far as my being able to ping them, I can ping the router that they say they are using to come in to me with no problem, and they say they can ping that router (this router is not my internet gateway, I have two (three including theirs) routers, one is the main gateway that has a static route that points to my other router when ADP traffic is detected. That second router points to the router that we both can ping. It is setup this way because ADP will only allow traffic from certain routers, so I have to direct my ADP traffic to their router.) Also, I setup an alert now so I will know if someone replies! Thanks Tony P.S. - Just to clarify - I am not using an FTP program - I am running the ADP software (dealership software) which generates a file then automatically FTP's that file to my hard drive. Also, I really don't think it is a Norton issue - I uninstalled Norton and completely disabled the Windows Firewall and the FTP still didn't work - which is why I am so baffled!
