FTP Problems
Good morning,i have two machines at different locations that cannot FTP to any FTP server using any FTP client. Client 1: Windows Vista on a DSL connection with a Linksys wrt54g2 router with the latest firmware. Client 2: Windows Server 2003 no local, software firewall on a different ISP's DSL connection and a D-Link DIR-615. Test FTP Server 1: Windows Server 2003 R2 ona Fibre connection with a Cisco 1700 Router running G6FTP Test FTP Server 2: Windows Server 2003 ona Fibre connectin with a Netscreen firewall.i have a dozen or so other clients that do not have any issue connected to these FTP servers so i am left thinking that it is related to these workstations. it's also not the firewall/routers as at Client 1's site there are two identical machines where one works and the other does not. i have tried IE, FileZilla, Cobian, and DOS with the same result in all cases. i get connected but i cannot get directory listing. the connection times out or "is reset by peer". i just read another thread and have connected to ftp.microsoft.comwith the same result. i got logged in successfully but when i issue a DIR command i get connection closed by remote host.i've been beating my head on this for months as it also seems to work from time to time (5% of the time) while all the others work consistently. Yes, i've tried both active and passive with similar results. Can someone direct me to some possible answers?thanks, dean
