FTP IIS7 winsows 7 remote computer firewall. How do i configure?
Hi
I have a win7 Ultimate machine in my home network and several other laptops and desktops mostly win 7.
One is running iis7, PHP, and FTP servers n it.
What i really want is to set up that iis7 machine to behave the same as my ISP web sites.
In other words I want to Publish to it via FTP, and then run my website on it (for testing).
I started out by following some microsoft documents and quickly got lost.
All the article i read seem to assume that i will access the iis server from the server as localhost.
I want to access the server from within my home network from machine to machine.
I got the server to work as iis 7. But the ftp server part is all messed up.
I just want to ftp into the same folder as the root of my website.
If i turn off the firewall on the iis server machine, i can access it, but cannot successfully log in.
So What are my firewall settings? i checked off the FTP server allow box in windows firewall. (the only firewall running)
How do i add an ftp login, and how do i point that ftp client to a specific folder?
This is becomming a major struggle. I have spent a couple of days on it.
Thanks

Hi Jerry,
From your description, I notice the issue is related to IIS server. I suggest posting a new thread to IIS forum to ensure the issue can be addressed in the most efficient
way.

In addition, based on my research, to configure the Anonymous authentication identity, you can refer to the following steps:
1.
Open IIS Manager.
2.
In Features View, double-click
FTP Authentication.
3.
On the
FTP Authentication page, select
Anonymous Authentication.
4.
In the
Actions pane, click
Edit.
5.
In the
Edit Anonymous Authentication Credentials dialog box, enter a user name and password in the
User name and
Password boxes. Enter the password again in the
Confirm Password box, then click
OK.
For more information about FTP configuration, I will share the following articles for you. Hope it helps.
