I am having a similar issue in that I am unable to upload to my ftp remote server. Everything seems to be working, I can connect to the internet - but when I try to connect through Dreamweaver CS3 -- I get an error message saying Toggling the "Use Passive FTP" checkbox may help you establish a connection.- Select or de-select the checkbox and click Test to try again. If you are connecting to an IPv6 enabled server, please select the "Use IPv6 transfer mode" checkbox in the Advanced site definition dialog. If the problem persists, check your network settings, including the local firewall settings on your computer, or consult your network administrator.I have done all this but nothing changes!Any ideas? Just as an aside I am unable to take a screen shot too. I have since resolved this issue -- it was in the CS3 settings not Windows 7!! They changed during the upgrade -- I had to reset the Passive FTP check box.

I can confirm this as well, I can connect and view the dir structure via Command Prompt, but when using the built in "Map Network Drive" to connect an FTP site it gives me the "The handle is invalid" error.

I'm having the same issue - ftp works through dos prompt and through IE. - You submit a bug using the "Send feeback" button in the upper right corner of the window you're experiencing the issue in (next to the X).

As I indicated in my above post, I'm also having an issue establishing an FTP connection via File Explorer. When I attempt to connect it asks me for a Username and Password but instead of then showing folders for the FTP site it pops up a error dialog box stating "An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder. Details: The handle is invalid". I'm able to connect to the FTP site and browse/send/receive files via the command prompt. Therefore, I'm assuming the issue is with File Explorer. Btw, you indicated FTP works through IE... How do you FTP directly within IE?

Glad I'm not alone in this particular issue. I have a weather site that needs to have files uploaded, but no go. No choice but to transfer files to another machine, then upload from there. I'm using Win7on the main machine, and theFTP uploadissue is the only hangup. I can open the site and download files no problem, but noway to upload them without getting the invalid handle error. Hope this pesky bug gets squashed pretty soon.

I was seeing this problem in my first beta attempt (x86) then it was gone in 7048 x64 - and now it's back in RC 7100 x64 - it's sooo annoying and it forced me to install an FTP program on my freshRC intallation. I too can set up the ftp location straight from right clicking in "computer" i can the browse and drag and drop files from my ftp - but not the other way -I can create folders though!?! - and rename files! - just no upload - very very strange!

Same situation here. I'm running FreeNAS, and can connect via Firefox. I can browse, copy FROM ftp, create folders, etc. I was even able to copy a single 400kb testfile to the ftp on the very first login, but have since been locked out from copying to ftp with the "The handle is invalid" error message. Booting over into Ubuntu completely remedies the situation. It is a crying shame that the very streamlined integration of ftp in "computer" is all but ruined by this error message!

I'm using build 7100; same "invalid Handle" in windows explorer.

Hi, I'm having the same ftp problem. I also found the problem was fixed, but now appeared again. I think this suggests poor source code control. Aren't Microsoft using VSS?! Great version of Windows, except for this annoying little bug.

It's a known issue, will be fixed in the later builds. Microsoft MVP - Group Policy I trust the 'later build' includes the final release due in a few weeks.Im gettting the same problem. I can create folders OK, can download, rename and delete files, but cannot upload no matter what I do. And as I'm running RC 7100 there's no way to report the problem either. Thankfully, the FTP upload in IE8 under VirtualXP is working perfectly so I can still upload files even if it is a bit convoluted.

I confirm, same problem, connecting to the ftp site using Windows Explorer without problems, creating, copying files and folders OK, but I can not delete folders or files ... Ultimate Windows Seven x64 fr I also confirm. Connection OK, create OK, copy OK. Attempt to delete and I get 'FTP Folder Error' An error occurred deleting the file or folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access this folder. Details: The handle is invalid. Ultimate Windows Seven x64

Same here. Deletion almots always results in "The Handle is Invalid", no matter the FTP server. Windows 7 x64 Home Premium FR. This issue definitively isn't solved. How can I file a ticket or something, now that we're out of beta ? Thanks.
