FSX Random Crash
Hello, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my iMac through Bootcamp. I have performed a clean install and even re-installed Windows 7 and FSX and FSX: Acceleration. What my problem is, is that whenever I am flying (Free Flight, Missions, etc.) I can be flying for 5 mins. and anywhere up to maybe an Hour. But whenever I sometimes switch views or just press a single button on the keyboard the game crashes and I get a blue screen doing a physical memory dump and then my computer restarts. This is becoming quite aggravating due to the fact that I generally are not able to complete a flight or whatever. Does anybody have any ideas?

Hi, When did this issue started to occur? Hope you have the latest compatible drivers for your iMac including update for BIOS and chipset. Please shut down all the other applications, disable your antivirus software and test again. Meanwhile, FSX uses a lot of RAM, and as you fly it can increase to1.5 GB+ depending on scenery, so you could have a memoryfault in a location other software doesn't reach. At this point, I would suggest use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. 2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. Refer the following link for more information: How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 Good luck. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
