FIM SSPR quickstart MA run profiles

FIM SSPR quickstart has two MAs - FIMMA and ADMA. Associated with these MAs are three run profiles (actually five but generalizing) - Import, Sync and export.

Can someone please clarify what these do for each MA?

ADMA :  Import -> This creates holograms in AD connector space?

Sync -> Syncs the AD connector space data with MV?

             Export - ??

FIMMA :  Import -> imports data from MV to fim connector space?

sync -> syncs data with MV??

export -> exports to FIM portal database?

Dominik explained it correctly. Let me see if I can amplify his explanation.

A sync run profile step goes CS object by CS object. It starts with filters, and then join and project rules. Assuming it already has a connection or gets one then it goes to Import attribute flow to the MV object. At that point the execution focus shifts from the CS object to the MV object. Provisioning can then occur. The almost last step of the sync is to run the Export attribute flow happens to all of the MV objects connectors (including the original CS object). Finally it checks filters again.

An export run profile step is FIM sending data to a connected data source such as AD or a database or other application.

While I understood what they did, I wasn't clear on the "export" "import" created by QuickStart. A test with an account helped clarify the confusion.

AD -> import to CS. -> Sync to MV

MV->sync to FIM CS -> export to portal database

In essence the "export" of AD and "Import" of FIM MA are not used when using it to populate users for FIM SSPR only.

Thank you for your help and inputs.
