FIM SSPR quickstart has two MAs - FIMMA and ADMA. Associated with these MAs are three run profiles (actually five but generalizing) - Import, Sync and export.

Can someone please clarify what these do for each MA?

ADMA :  Import -> This creates holograms in AD connector space?

             Sync -> Syncs the AD connector space data with MV?

             Export - ??

FIMMA :  Import -> imports data from MV to fim connector space?

              sync -> syncs data with MV??

              export -> exports to FIM portal database?

(Any MA):

• Import: takes data from connected system and creates hologram in connector space.
• Sync: calculate if hologram should be joined to existing object, created as object in MV or stay as a disconnector (nor joined, neither projected). If object is projected or joined to MV object it also calculates if it should be created in another MA (provisioned) or which attributes should be updated in connected systems.
• Export: Creates an object in connected system or updates it with values calculated by FIM based on MV attributes.

In QuickStart scenario:

AD MA:

• Import -> Imports data (users) from AD to Connector Space
• Sync -> Calculates if users should be joined or projected. If projected, it creates a pending export object in FIM MA. If joined it prepares updates on existing objects with new attributes.
• Export -> Not used in this scenario

FIM MA:

• Import -> Takes some user attributes from FIM MA (as FIMService's GUID) to a hologram in FIMMA's connector space
• Sync -> Updates attributes in metaverse based on hologram in its connector space.
• Export -> Creates or updates users in FIM Portal (FIMService).
