FIM Portal Troubleshooting - Default RCDCs Not Recognized After Replacement through FIM Service Configuration Migration.
  FIM Experts Corner Article

Recently we found a problem with default Resource Control Display Configuration (RCDC) objects when they had been replaced in the FIMService database by a new copy.
The end result is that any default RCDC object that has been replaced (delete / add) for any reason will not be usable because the FIM Portal references these objects by the default GUID created with the object during the FIM Service install.

Good deck. The same guidance applies to OOB Sets that are leveraged by the Portal to determine dynamic UI elements

Such as 'All Button Viewable Sets'

Hi,

It appears this deck is no longer available.

We are running into this error and I was wondering if the deck could be re-posted in case it contains information that can help us to resolve the error.

Thanks in advance!

Any chance that we can get this working again? All of the links around the web on this information just links us back to this post, however the link doesn't work.

We've encountered the same problem after migrating. The link doesn't work, any chance to get it online again?

Very much appreciated.

Hello all,

with the help of Markus Vilcinskas, I've recovered the ppt. (Still, all credits to Steven Klem!)
To make life easier, I've migrated the content to Technet Wiki.

It's more interactive as TNWiki allows to add additional, valuable content.

You can find it here:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/31428.fim-2010-troubleshooting-default-rcdcs-not-recognized-after-replacement-through-fim-service-configuration-migration.aspx

It has the content of the ppt and you should be able to view the online version of Steven's presentation.

I've also added some additional blogs, by Bob and Thomas.

Enjoy!

Is there a way to get this presentation for off-line viewing. I'm new to OfficeMix and do not see an obvious way to download this.

Thanks,

Greg

For now, I've posted a PDF version of the presentation on Technet Gallery.

I need to check with Steven to publish the ppt again, as he's the owner of it... and we might need to republish the Wiki/Gallery with his account.

Added the link in the Wiki article.

I'll keep you p
