Hi,

FEP 2010 client in Windows 7 is not getting updated for 40% of machines. Updates are getting downloaded from Distribution Point and it is installing. 

Please let me know if any standard procedure available for troubleshoot the Definition Update issue

Have you checked the event viewer?

Is there any error associated with the failed update?

The best way is to look into log files or event viewer for events related to update for the failed PC and see the error number and investigate it.
