Extreme USB slowdown in Windows 7 home premium x64
I've found a few threads about problems similar to mine but none of the answers have helped my problem any. Since I first purchased Windows 7 I have been having significantly slower USB transfer speeds than I had in XP Pro, with the Windows 7 speeds never exceeding 1MB writing and 2MB reading. I know its not a hardware problem, because up until recently I was duel booting with windows XP on the same PC. unfortunately ever since some hardware upgrades windows XP won't run any longer so I've gotten desperate. I've tried doing a clean boot and in safety mode I've tried deleting and letting windows reinstall the USB drivers All of my drivers and BIOS are current and I've even tried the patch that works on the NVIDIA motherboards. Does anyone have any idea how to help me? I'm running an ECS A780GM-A motherboard an AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor at 3.2GHz and 8GB of DDR2 RAM at 400MHz. Please ask if you think any other information may be necessary, I'm really desperate for help Thanks
