External HD on Network Disappears
Hi, I upgraded my laptop to Win 7 from Vista (32bit) and I am having network problems. I use Airport Express for my wireless connectivity and I also have an external HD connected to it. From time to time, I would be able to see the HD under my computer (network) and sometimes it disappears. I tried to disable my firewalls - no changes. Please advise.

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. When the external HD disappears, please check if you can ping it with IP Address or its name; or try to access it with “\\IP Address” or “\\its name”. 2. When the issue occurs, please check if you can access some other network resources. 3. Update the NIC driver on the Windows 7 computer. 4. Boot the computer to clean boot and keep monitoring if the issue occurs: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 Hope this helps. Thanks.
