Extending Disk Space Of System Drive ?
Hi, actually Windows 7 ultimate is installed on my C drive. there is very less space in my C drive and there is 90gb available in my E drive. i wanted to know how i can extent the C space by cutting from E drive space. I tried using Computer managment tool and shrinked my E drive , free space was allocated by there was option disables in C drive to extend the drive space by adding that unallocated disk space How can i extent the system drive space Need Help Thanks, Shan

You can only extend using contiguous space that is immediately ‘to the right’ of a partition as showing in Disk Management. 1. Now that you have ’shrunk’ E, use the unallocated space and create a new volume, format it and give it a meaningful name. 2. Copy the contents of E to the new volume and delete E. 3. You should now have unallocated space to the right of C that can be added to C.

hi, i followed your , made anouther drive partition and copied that old one to new one , and deleted the old ne partition, now the unanllocated spcae is available there. but there is still not option visible in C to extent. on the other hand the new patition is also unable to extent to use that unallocated space?? should i use patition softwares etc to create partition and modify it... what should i do now

Yes, to circumvent the limitations of the built-in software, use the free, or trial, software that can be found by ‘Googling’.

The best way to extend C drive with the enough disk space on E partition and without any data loss can be finished by the 3rd party tool like Aomei Partition Assistant, and here is an article about extend system partition Windows 7 for your reference. (: hope it is help for you!
