Many of us on another forum have view this issue in System and Security/Administrative Tools. This error was responsible for the shut down up my computer and I initiated a restore point in order to log back in. The only program that was added was the GPU version of F@H that was bundled with the latest driver from ATI. I'm not sure if this is relevant but here is more detailed information pertaining to the error as described in Event Viewer: General Express Writer error: failed while adding express writers from directory System. Hi,can you please check whether or not you actually have a file "75DFB225-E2E4-4d39-9AC9-FFAFF65DDF06.xml" in the directory mentioned (C:\Windows\Vss\Writers\System\)? We had a bug in VSS which wouldlog erroneous 6016 event in the presence of this Express Writer Medatata file; it has been fixed in RTM. This issue was limited to the false event log and wasn't interefering with System Protection Points. Can you find any other event log which would lead to a failed install as you indicated in the message?One other issue could be the file is actually missing and we would have to find out how the file got deleted.Let us know.Thanks,Himanshu
