Explorer doesn't load right away
About four months ago, I started experiencing a problem when my PC starts up and Windows begins to run. The normal PC boot sequence appears to be fine and I even get the Windows startup sound, but all I see is a blank screen. None of my desktop icons appear and the start menu is missing until about 10 minutes later. I have been able to launch certain applications using the "Run New Task" in the Task Manager, but I can't get the explorer window to appear. I have looked for support on this issue, but the closest suggestion I could find was to run anti-virus, spyware and malware removal programs. I have done all of that and am still having the same issue. I am not sure if this is related to the same issue, but I have also noticed a problem trying to put the PC in Stand-By Mode. When I click on Stand-By from the ShutDown menu, the screen changes to show the "Preparing to Stand-By" message but it never actually goes into Stand-By mode. The only way to get out of it is to turn the computer off at the power switch. Please let me know if there is any solution to my problems. Thanks.2 people need an answerI do too
