Explorer crashing only in limited accounts
Hi- I am running Windows XP sp3 and internet explorer keeps on crashing in the limited accounts I have set up and newly created ones as well. Explorer never gets to start, it just crashes. It works fine in the admin account. Another weird thing is that when I go to start search there is no place to click for my selection, ie. on the left side of the window in the blue field right above the dog is all blank, just a bunch of blue, no search files.., location... etc.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.1 person got this answerI do too

Hi amendni, Thank you for taking the time to post. How are you creating the limited accounts, are you using any local security templates? Is this machine joined to a domain? Open the Command Prompt (CMD) and type GPRESULT and hit enter then copy that information from the window and paste it into the forum here. This solution has worked for me under both Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional (sp3):1) From your Administrator account, under Users, Change the Limited Account to be an Administrator Account2) Log into the account and start IE (it should start now that the account is an administrator, you may see script errors).3) Under Tools / Internet Options / click the Advanced Tab: 4) under "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" click the Reset button 5) You do NOT need to check the "Delete Personal Settings" box6) Close and restart IE before logging off the account6) Log Off of the account, go back to your admin account and reset the account to be a Limited account. Log back in and check that IE starts properly.Note that you will need to do this for each limited account that has the problem.
