Explorer Crashes After Wireless Connection Fails
I have recently purchased an HP Pavilion tx2500 which comes with Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1, 32-bit edition, and until now, it has been working fine. However, about two days ago, while browsing the web normally, my Firefox would stop working. It would be loading a page but nothing would come up. I tried using Internet Explorer instead, but then it has the same problem, where it would be just connecting and nothing would show up. I tried disconnecting and connecting to my router, but then, right after i disconnect from it, the "Connect to a network" application would just crash, stuck at the "connect to a network" screen. After trying to terminate "Connect to a network" in task manager, it would say that explorer.exe has crashed, and it restarts explorer.exe. After it restarts, the same problem persists and I still cannot re-connect to my router. Also, when I try to open the "Network and Sharing Centre" window through either control panel or the network window, the window which should be "Network and Sharing Centre" would not load, goes blank, and then it would stop responding and crash, much like the "Connect to a network" one.The problem fixes after I attempt to reboot my machine. However, during the shutting down process, I would either be stuck on the "logging off" screen, the "shutting down" screen, or my screen would just go blank. A hard reboot was required to actually restart my system. The source of error in the error message that comes up after windows starts again is "Blue Screen".Thank you in advance for any help provided. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi, To solid troubleshoot this kind of kernel crash issue, we need to debug the crashed system dump and analyze the related source code if needed. Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the forum. I'd like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for assistance so that this problem can be resolved efficiently. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS If you are outside the US please see http://support.microsoft.com for regional support phone numbers. In addition, I have the following suggestions for you. You can try them first before calling Microsoft CSS: 1. Scan your system to make sure that the system is virus free. Temporarily disable your anti-virus software to see if this problem is gone. 2. Take a clean boot. Test issue in Clean Boot ============================= 1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". 4. Restart the computer and test the issue. Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK". Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit. If the issue still persists, please contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for further troubleshooting. I hope the problem will be resolved soon. Hope it helps.
