Explorer Crahes when editing WLAN properties
Hello,i tried to connect to a WPA/WPA2 enterprise network with EAP-TLS authentication. I installed the certificate successfully. To connect to the network i have to add a new wireless network. This happend with no error. But to connect successfully to the network i have to change some properties of the wireless network.Network and sharing center -> Manage Wireless Network -> Right-Click on Network -> Properties -> Windows Explorer crashesWhat i need to do is: .. -> Properties -> Tab: Security -> Choose "Smartcard and other certificats"The error occurs when i click on the name of the wireless network and hit properties (in german: Eigenschaften). Windows Explorer shuts down und restarts, nothing more.Patrick

Hmmm...Out of curiosity, have you tried changing the setting in Safe Mode? Does it work? Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org

Hello Mr B.I found some command prompts.you can try netsh wlan set profileparameterbut the fastest way is to export a configured profile from a vista machinewithnetsh wlan export profile name="I try this tomorrow with my _student network ;).

Well, exporting a configured profile from windows vista works. As i was not able to configure the EAP-Type through the command prompt. Now i am online at the network with WPA/WPA2 enterprise and EAP-TLS authentication on my windows 7 machine. Thanks and best regardsPatrick Baumann

Hello,I am experiencing just the same error. It does not seem to be related to the kind of wireless connection or to the encryption method, everytime I try to edit the settings explorer crashes and restarts. This is really annoying because the network connection needs SecureW2 TTLS protocol and I did not succeed setting this up via netsh.Setting the basic properties while creating new connection works, though. Is there a solution yet? I do not have Vista to export a profile.Manfred Meierbier
