Exchange tabs in Win7 x64
We're running Exchange 2003 SP2 and Windows 7 Enterprise x64. I have two needs: 1. The abiliyt to quickly create a user object with a mailbox on a particular Exchange server 2. The abiliyt to quickly change Exchange Rights for a mailbox I've seen talk about installing the Vista ESM, but that doesn't seem to add the Exchange tabs to my ADUC or AD Administrative Center. What are my best options? Thanks.

Hi, Exchange System Manager for Windows 7 has not be released. Based on the current situation, you may try the unofficial Exchange Server Management Tools for Windows 7. You may download them from the following link: http://nwcalc.web44.net/Win7/ Note: The third-party products discussed here are manufactured by companies that are independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability. According to the replies in the following thread, it works normally. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvradmin/thread/40f8f710-b447-4a0d-8504-1f07e5483ad0 If you need more information about Exchange System Manager for Windows 7, it is recommended to submit the questions to Microsoft Exchange Forum. I'll give it a try. It shouldn't matter that my OS is x64, right?

Hi, I realize that the webpage says “This will not work on Windows 7RC 64bit edition”. This makes me think it may not work with Windows 7 64-bit, but you may still give it a try. I would like to find a solution to this as well. I am running Windows 7 64-bit Professional and so far have not found a solution to bring up the exchange tabs and additional info tabs in ADUC.

Hi, Exchange System Manager for Windows 7 has not be released. How many organizations are still using Exchange 2003? Are they not allowed to upgrade the OS? Why isn't there an supported tool for this scenario? I'm mad. >:(

Hi Mhashemi, As an computer user, I fully understand how frustrated you are! I will send your feature request to Microsoft and hope the Exchange System Manager for both Exchange Server 2003 and Windows 7 can be developed and released. While we cannot guarantee that these features will be added, we would like to ensure you that we will make every effort to see that they do. Currently, you may consider to install Windows XP Mode for Windows 7 Enterprise and install Exchange System Manager for Windows XP or install Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit and use the method I suggested above as a workaround. Hi all This is pretty poor from Microsoft - this is casuing much frustration and is time consuming. How long will it take for Microsoft to develop System manager for Win 7-64bit?

Yeah, I have to complain about this more. I'm really mad. Every time I need to change and Exchange property, I have to RDP to another machine (I'm using one of our Exchange servers), open ADUC, make the change and log out. PITA. With such a large Exchange 2003 install base and push for 64 bit computing, MS has completely neglected many admins.

I TOTALLY agree. I went through some minor hacking in order to get Windows 7 32 bit going 6 months ago, but the 64 bit version of Windows 7 simply does not have a good solution. We are out of luck unless you feel like running compatability mode. Yuck! This is unacceptable and a very poor way of forcing the customer's hand to upgrade to another version of Exchange. In this day and age with low IT budgets, Microsoft should be ashamed to not have developed a tool to use across the board on all OS platforms...either integrated into ADUC or otherwise. Those of us that modify many email accounts daily are now majorly inconvenienced. Please Microsoft. Please, I am begging you. We NEED this tool badly!!!
