Exchange Online Protection - Rules suddenly deleted from our environment!

Hello,

My company is using Exchange Online Protection as our cloud-based mail filtering and spam prevention system, routing mail to Edge servers and the rest of our Exchange 2010 infrastructure, which is on-premises.

About a month or so ago, I went into EOP web interface and suddenly, all our Rules were gone!  We had created a number of rules, for blacklisting, whitelisting, etc.  I raised a ticket with Microsoft Support via the EOP console and was directed to run the audit logs to see what changes had been made to our environment.  Sure enough, around the day we noticed the Rules had disappeared were a number of entries, presumably relating to Microsoft engineers or scripts configured by engineers, running a variety of PowerShell EOP commands.  I would guess that one or more of those commands caused our Rules to be purged.

I've since started re-creating our Rules, but wanted to know if anyone else had had an experience like this.  I like cloud offerings, but this sort of unexpected and frankly; unexplained incident has put a sour taste in my mouth.
