I have a Lync 2010 Front End Server.  Everything is working just how I want it to.  I have it configured not to search through local Outlook contacts and that is working fine.  The one issue that I am seeing is with Distribution Groups.  When I search for Lync users the only users I see are Lync enabled users which is what I want.  However I do see all of the Distribution Groups that are created in Exchange.  How do I stop this from happening.

You will want to use Address Book filtering by setting the 0x4000 flag on the groupType AB attribute.  See the following article for more info.

Use SQL Management Studio to open the AbAttribute table in the rtc database on your SQL server and make the appropriate change to the groupType attribute.

In Office Communications Server 2007 R2, if the parameter PartitionByOU is set to TRUE, then a user search returns only contacts of other users that are members of the same organizational unit (OU) as the user that submitted the search.

Lync Server 2010 adds the attribute msRTCSIP-GroupingID onto user objects. It can be populated with the Globally Unique Identification (GUID) unique to users that need to be able to search for each other. Unless the user is a member of the tagged group, the search results will not display the user contacts.

Could someone explain me how to change GroupType parametr
for specyfic group name in AbAttribute  table? I tried use ABSConfig or
SQL Managment Studio on that table but I don't see there any list of
distributions groups.
