We have many Excel spreadsheets that utilize the "route to recipient" function. (This is one reason why we are not upgrading to Office 2007 as this functionality was removed from Office 2007). I have a Windows 7 professional machine that has Office 2003 installed, and when you click on "route to recipient", it does not open the address book. Is there something about Windows 7 that causes this not to function? Is there a workaround for this?

Was this a clean install, an upgrade from Vista? tell us more. Was Office reinstalled? When did you first notice the route to recipient macro wasn't working (this is an Office discussion, not Windows 7). This was a clean install of Windows 7 and I think it is an issue with Windows 7 as route to recepipient works with Windows XP. This is a brand new computer and Office 2003 was installed on the Winodws 7 machine. Thanks for your help.

Hi Bill - I haven't used that functionality in Excel before, so could you answer a question... what used to happen when you clicked the Route to Recipient button? Did it open Outlook? Your problem may be that there is no integrated Mail program within Windows 7. The official platform for Mail within 7 is Windows Live Mail, and though I've loaded and am using that, I have noticed that even it does not provide some expected interoperability with other MS products (like choosing Send within Internet Explorer... the Link as E-mail and Page as E-mail options are grayed out). Everyone moving to the Windows 7 platform is having to figure out how to port their e-mail and contacts, and you may simply have hit on another area to be worked through.

We are using Office 2003 on this computer. Usually, it opens a window that connects to the address book (A routing slip)that allows you to add recipients, and select the order in which to route them.
