USB Flash Drive (Cruzer) formatted for Windows 7 & 8 was reformatted after/while inserting the flash drive into a Windows XP Home Edition laptop.

  • When re-inserting the Flash Drive back into Windows 7 or 8 laptop, the flash drive was/is no longer recognized or indicates Unknown USB Devise, Devise Descriptor Request Failed; also displays Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43),
  • Attempted to Roll Back the Flash Drive reformatting on the Windows XP laptop, to no avail.
  • Attempted to identify the Windows XP recent activity, so I could hopefully identify where or if the files were on the Windows XP laptop, to no avail.
  • Attempted to reformat the Flash Drive by updating the drivers in Windows 8, to access the data.
  • Attempted to Roll Back the Flash Drive reformatting to previous version on the Windows 8 laptop, to no avail, not savvy enough.

Hello Evolutions Consulting

Do you mean that you use the file history to back up document in USB flash drive?
After formatting the USB, you want to restore the document in the USB drive?

Please check if you still have the documents in your Windows document folder.
If you have format the USB driver, I cant find the office software to restore the files in the USB flash driver.
Please contact the manufacturer to restore the data in the driver.

Best regards,
Fangzho
