Event ID 4001 WLAN AutoConfig has stopped successfully
Hello Everyone, I am baffled by this event being recorded as an 'error'. I use a Dell Optiplex 780 with a WIRED NIC. I don't even NEED WlanAutoConfig. I went into services and disabled it. Next time I restarted, I got the same error!~ The OS (Win7 Ultimate 64-bit) changed my 'Disabled" setting back to 'Automatic' !! Amazing. I have looked for a registry key to keep that service disabled but am unable to find it. There is no NETSH command to help me either. Anybody have any idea's to turn this service off, (DISABLE IT) permanently?!? I don't need it, I don't want it and it is incredibly aggrevating. Oh, tried to set to 'Maual' Start - same stupid error. I really, reallly want to disable this service...HELP!!!! Kindest Regards, Doug Shreve

Hi, Have you installed the latest network driver? Can you disable the wireless adapter to check the result? Have you test with another account? Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support
