Event ID. 1521 - User Profile Service - The specified path is invalid
My roaming user profile is not loading Windows 7. Log Name: Application Source: Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service Date: 10/15/2010 11:44:38 AM Event ID: 1521 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: User: Computer: Description: Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights. DETAIL - The specified path is invalid. It is set correctly in AD and works fine when logging into XP and was working in Windows 7 but quit working recently. If I manually change it, it gets changed back on reboot. I thought it might be and NVIDIA problem, but I have changed to an ATI card and I still have the issue. I am out of ideas. Can anyone help?

Hi, Thanks for the post! Do you have some group policy? Sometimes the group policy would give the roaming profile with wrong direction. Meanwhile, you can refer to these thread which are similar as yours: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverDS/thread/a9d23967-925c-403e-be99-dc011336426b http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7security/thread/6169502a-642e-49d4-be69-539b9b34a50f Also this one could help you: http://www.winvistatips.com/event-1521-roaming-profile-t824070.html Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
